The Super Bowl is one of the priciest sporting events on the planet, and it would appear Travis Kelce learned that the hard way based on how much money he apparently spent on the suite that was home to Taylor Swift, his family, and a number of other notable names during The Big Game in Las Vegas.

At one point, the price of the average ticket to Super Bowl LVIII was more than $10,000, and if you wanted to sit in one of the cheapest seats at Allegiant Stadium, you still needed to fork over thousands of dollars for the privilege.

As you would probably guess, players who earn the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl have a slightly easier time getting their hands on tickets.

This year, the Chiefs and the 49ers each received 17.5% of the overall allotment (roughly 11,000 seats for each franchise) to distribute as they saw fit, and each member of those teams reportedly received two tickets for free and had the chance to purchase up to 13 more at face value.

If you’re a player who’s bringing a sizeable cheering section to the Super Bowl, you might be tempted to splurge on a suite, but the fact that Christian McCaffrey initially shut down Olivia Culpo’s plans to purchase a box because it was too expensive really tells you all you need to know about the prices that ranged from $500K to $2.5 million.

In February, TMZ reported Travis Kelce footed the bill for the Super Bowl suite that was home to his family as well as Taylor Swift and some of hers along with a star-studded crew that included Ice Spice, Blake Lively, Cara Delevingne, and Miles Teller.

The outlet asserted the box set him back $1 million, but it sounds like he spent significantly more based on what he had to say during a conversation that was featured in the Netflix series Receiver.

Kelce—who turned down the chance to be a central figure in the show—still made an appearance thanks to the crew that was following George Kittle at Super Bowl LVIII. Prior to the game, the 49ers receiver said he’d declined to purchase a suite due to the cost before Kelce hinted the one he bought set him back $3 million.
