Trevor Bauer hit a roadblock on his trip back to Major League Baseball when another vehicle t-boned him while he was driving his black McLaren down a street in Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday.

Footage and photos from the scene of the accident show the 2020 Cy Young Award winner’s supercar sustained some serious damage. Bauer is seen conversing with police officers and standing next to his wrecked car, which is on the sidewalk with debris strewn across the road and a nearby yard.

According to TMZ, no one was seriously injured in the collision. A source close to Trevor Bauer said he was driving the speed limit in a 45-mph zone when another driver struck him, causing his McLaren to spin out of control.

Although the cause of the collision is unknown, Bauer was reportedly not at fault.

This is the second time that Trevor Bauer has seen one of his McLaren supercars damaged. In 2019, a semi-truck lost a tire that landed on his McLaren 650S while he had parked it at a neighborhood dealership.

“Yesterday, if you told me a semi truck would total my McLaren, I would’ve believed you,” Trevor Bauer wrote on X after that incident. “If you told me it would happen like THIS? I would’ve said you’re out of your mind. If this isn’t @Mayhem I don’t know what is @Allstate.”

Trevor Bauer was in Arizona to get treatment for an injury

The Atlantic League’s Long Island Ducks placed the 35-year-old on the injured list due to back spasms on Monday. He was reportedly in Arizona getting treatment for his injury.

“We are aware Trevor Bauer was in a car accident Wednesday afternoon,” Long Island Ducks president Michael Pfaff said in a statement, adding, “We have communicated with Trevor and his camp and are thankful to hear he is ok. He will continue his rehabilitation and there remains no timeline for his return.”

Bauer had been pitching incredibly well for the Ducks, including a seven-inning no-hitter at Lancaster and a 15-strikeout performance against Gastonia last Tuesday that broke the team’s single-game record. However, in the last start before his injury, he allowed five runs, eight hits, and two walks over five innings. He now has a 4-1 record with a 2.43 ERA on the season.
