There are few feelings worse as an NFL fan than seeing your star quarterback go down with what looks to be a serious injury. Sadly for Jaguars fans, that’s exactly what it looks like just happened to franchise signal caller Trevor Lawrence.

During the 4th quarter of a 28-28 game on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals, Lawrence went back to pass, and stepped on the ankle of left tackle Walker Little. That caused what looks to be a serious injury.

Here’s another look.

It took the third-year man out of Clemson a lot of time to get off of the turf, and it did not look good when he did. Later, ESPN showed him unable to walk without support while in the tunnel en route to be more formally evaluated.

It’s too early to speculate on how serious the injury is. If it were to keep him out an extended period of time it would be a crushing loss for the Jaguars, who were an impressive 8-3 heading into Monday night’s game.

Former Iowa Hawkeye and San Francisco 49er CJ Beathard is the backup in Jacksonville.

Coming into Monday night’s game Trevor Lawrence had thrown for over 2700 yards and had 12 touchdowns on the year.
