Heading into this NFL season, there were very few players in the league that found themselves under as much scrutiny as Tua Tagovailoa.

There were rumors last season that former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores wanted to trade for another quarterback to replace Tua and there were reports that this may have contributed to his surprising firing as the team picked Tua over him.

After making that decision, the Dolphins got Tua the first star receiver he’d ever thrown to in Tyreek Hill. That somehow led to more criticism and had much of the football world looking out for any bad throw Tua made during camp.

There were many before the season that were waiting for Tua to stumble even with the more talented offense around him.

He’s done the opposite. Tua has thrived with his new weapon and his new coach and the Dolphins currently find themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot even in a surprisingly tough AFC East.

Today, Tua was asked about how he’s grown this season and he took the opportunity to take a shot at all of the media members who doubted him so far in his career.

Tua has definitely earned the right to take a victory lap early in this season. Despite missing a game and a half with a concussion, Tua has already thrown for 1678 yards and 12 touchdowns while turning the Miami Dolphins into one of the league’s most dynamic passing attacks.

Tua is also completing the highest percentage of passes he ever has in his career while bringing his air yards per attempt up from 6.5 to 9.6.

It’s safe to say that Tua Tagovailoa has already silenced a lot of his doubters this season.
