It’s been nearly 10 months since superstar Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill tore his ACL in a Week 4 matchup with the New York Jets, and it sounds as if progress has been slower than he hoped.
Hill, who is currently a 32-year-old free agent, previously proposed the idea of retirement in the aftermath of the injury.
“At the end of the day, I feel like that decision is based upon how I feel and where my mindset is at the moment,” Hill said on during a podcast appearance with former teammate Terron Armstead. “I’m happy with the career that I’ve had. I love playing football. I love it, but it takes a lot. It takes a lot on you mentally, it takes a lot on you physically.”
Now it appears that the decision may be taken out of his hands.
Tyreek Hill Has ‘No Power’ In Leg 10 Months After Major Knee Injury
Hill took to YouTube on Wednesday to post a video of his rehab process and let fans know where he stood, and he was very honest in his assesment.
“So it’s about 10 months after doing two surgeries,” Hill said. “My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg, so I’m trying to regain all the power back in my left leg. But it’s one day at a time.”
For a player whose success was largely predicated on speed and quickness, not having power in one of his legs could likely spell the end of his career.
Hill did claim that he’s attempting to come back, but “I ain’t going to tell you what my timeline is, but timeline looking real good right now, man.”
We’re not sure that squares with his earlier comments. But you’ve got to credit the effort. It’s clear that Hill isn’t going to go away without a fight.
