Tyreek Hill appeared to quit on the Dolphins when he pulled himself from the game during Sunday’s loss versus the New York Jets. After the game, the wide receiver made it abundantly clear that he wasn’t happy with his status in Miami.

When asked about his future after the loss to the Jets, Tyreek Hill stated that he plans to leave the organization in the offseason.

“I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro,” Hill told the media. “It was great playing here, but at the end of the day I gotta do what’s best for my career because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

Tyreek Hill has appeared to have some sort of problem with his situation with the Dolphins since a game way back in October. In December, Hill wrote on X (Twitter), “It’s time for me to go coach.”

On Thursday, footage from Sunday’s game surfaced which appears to show the very moment that Tyreek Hill quit on the Dolphins.

After the game, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said when asked about Hill not playing, “I was informed he wasn’t available, and I didn’t really have the time to dig more into that and we’ll see what comes of that after watching the tape and talking to coaches and the training staff.”

McDaniel also called out several players on the Miami Dolphins for not giving their best effort throughout the season.

“Certain specific individuals … I don’t think it was across the board,” he said. “There’s a lot of guys that had certain fines before that didn’t have any. There were some people that had multiple that, you know, I think there are different ways to counteract that. Bringing it up as a team and continuing to fine guys wasn’t enough, so I’m not going to continue to just place all of the blame on even some of the smallest individuals that were multiple offenders.”

On Thursday, Tyreek Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus gave an update on the situation to Pat McAfee.

“He’s very passionate. I think at the end of the day, he’s committed to this Dolphins football team,” Rosenhaus said. “He had an excellent meeting with Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel. I believe that Tyreek is a great asset to the Dolphins, and I think he’s the least guy that people should be worried about with this organization. They have many more worries, and Tyreek Hill is not one of them.”

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier did say on Tuesday, “I would say Mike and I both had conversations with Tyreek. Yesterday, (we had) productive conversations. I would keep those between us. The one thing I would say is, in a frustrating season, he was very emotional.”
