UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell, pictured above after getting knocked out cold by Josh Emmett at UFC 296, is going viral on Thursday for all the wrong reasons. Mitchell went on his Arksanity podcast with co-host and former fighter Roli Delgado and openly praised Adolf Hitler while spewing disgusting antisemitic and homophobic rhetoric.
We will not link to the podcast, but a link to the video found on Twitter can be viewed below.
Active UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell:
“I honestly think that Hitler was a good guy”
“He wanted to purify [Germany] by kicking the greedy Jews out that were destroying his country and turning them all into gays … didn’t want a bunch of q*eers destroying his nation” https://t.co/PdhZNtcjVL pic.twitter.com/9eiPdm6hC7

“I honestly think that Hitler was a good guy, based upon my own research, not my public education and indoctrination,” Mitchell said. “I really do think that before Hitler got on meth, he was a guy to go fishing with. When he got on meth and he turned on Russia, I believe that’s when he kinda went full nutty. Was Hitler perfect? No, but he was fighting for his people. He wanted a pure nation.”
It may not surprise you to learn that Mitchell is also a flat-earther. Because critical thinking is very clearly not his forte. While the UFC has not yet issued a statement on his comments (and probably won’t), several members of the MMA world have.
“Each and every day MMA finds a way to reach a new low. A new way of embarrassing itself and those who are fans of it,” Ariel Helwani tweeted.
“It’s getting harder and harder to tell people you cover MMA,” wrote Jason Hagholm. “Bryce Mitchell with a trend that is continuing of people making Hitlers actions seem OK. This is what happens when you start taking history books away from schools. The thing is this won’t have any impact on Mitchell as the UFC won’t punish him.”
Sadly, Mitchell’s comments are just part for the course in MMA. And it doesn’t appear that anybody with the power to do anything about it actually cares.
UPDATE: UFC President Dana White Weights In On Bryce Mitchell Comments
Several hours after Mitchell’s comments went viral, UFC president Dana White responded with a verbal repudiation.
“I’ve heard a lot of dumb, ignorant sh-t in my day, but this one’s probably the worst,” White told members of the media. “…We’ve obviously reached out to Bryce and when we read what he said and let him know what we feel about it, we are beyond disgusted.”
However, White deflected when asked if Mitchell would face any actual consequences from the UFC.
““That’s what everybody wants to hear about, punishment. It’s free speech, I don’t have to love it, you don’t have to love it…You know where I am with free speech. We’re disgusted by it.”
Of course, free speech does not guarantee freedom from consequences should the UFC have chosen to act. Instead, it appears Mitchell will just be told to go to his room and think about what he’s done. Truly a stern message sent…
