UFC Star Sponsors Fighter In Fight Against Guy Who Allegedly Slept With His Ex-Wife

Apparently UFC flyweight star Tim Elliott knows how to hold a grudge and isn’t afraid to be a little bit petty.

Elliott, who formerly fought for the flyweight title against Demetrious Johnson, is sponsoring BKFC fighter Tony Soto is his upcoming fight against Kevin Croom.

On its face, there isn’t anything strange about that. UFC fighters often sponsor teammates who fight in smaller promotions.

But let’s dig a little deeper.

Because Elliott (allegedly) has a pretty personal history with Croom.

As it turns out, Croom allegedly slept with Elliott’s ex-wife Gina Mazany. Mazany fought in the UFC for five years from 2017-22. She went 3-6 in nine career fights in the promotion, with her biggest win coming via TKO over Rachael Ostovich in November of 2020.

But it only gets worse from there.

Croom is a former UFC fighter as well and also a former teammate of Elliott and Mazany at Xtreme Couture and Glory MMA.

Croom was 0-3-1 in his four career fights.

As it turns out, Mazany (allegedly) cheated on Elliott with Croom on the pair’s wedding day. Elliott revealed as much in a Facebook post in May.

“I didn’t release anything I released to try to make Gina or Kevin look or feel bad because there was way more stuff,” Elliott told talkSPORT.com of the affair. “I put a really PG version of what happened out. The depths of it are a lot worse than what I released. I didn’t do it for anyone but myself.

“Now, looking back, I wish I could’ve just gotten over it without doing that, but I don’t know how long it would’ve taken to actually get past it.”

Elliot returns to the cage at UFC 294 on Saturday.

He’ll take on British upstart Muhammad Mokaev, who is 10-0 in his career.

But win or lose, it’s clear he remains a petty king.
