Mark Zuckerberg might not be fighting Elon Musk after their fight negotiations broke down last month, but he’s still getting training for an MMA fight in the near future.

While speaking with Forbes, Zuckerberg said he would be interested in stepping inside the cage sometime next year and facing off against someone “who takes the sport very seriously.”

“I want to do an MMA competition or some type of formal fight sometime in the next year, so I’m looking forward to that; I’m probably going to do it with someone who takes the sport very seriously and does it competitively or is a professional.”

While preparing to make his MMA debut, Zuckerberg has trained with some of the top athletes in the sport, including Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski.

In a recent video posted on his YouTube page ‘FreeStyleBender’, the former UFC middleweight champion shared his sparring session with Zuckerberg.

Adesanya was left impressed with Zuck’s skills and grit.

“For the amount of time he’s been training, and for the amount of time he trains, I put it on him, it was kind of a crash course in fighting, so I was coaching him as we were going along, he’s a smart man, I’ll tell you he’s a smart man. I was impressed afterwards…he was like Israel can we go another round, I wasn’t being easy on him and he wanted to go again…he’s a gamer, tenacious, I like that”

After the sparring session, Adesanya made sure to give Zuck his props.

“You hit hard, you’re serious, I like it.”

While Zuck is probably still a ways off before making his MMA debut, he’s already got battle scars from training.

The future looks bright for him!
