The UNLV football team dropped its Game 11 uniform reveal on social media Thursday as it gears up for a matchup with San Jose State. In doing so, they took a shot at recent complaints of high food prices in their home stadium.
Last week, an attendee in Allegiant Stadium showed a receipt his order of pizza and chicken fingers that totaled over $650. The post immediately went viral due to the absurd pricing.
A breakdown of the charge, which came in one of the venue’s suites, showed costs of $300 for pizza, $190 for chicken tenders, a $112 administrative fee, and a $50 sales tax. It was just a bit more than the fan had planned on spending!
Friend of mine had a VIP box for yesterday’s UNLV game. Ordered a pizza and wings. Never realized what it was going to cost for this slop…. $653…. They treat the luxury suite guests like they are in a club with bottle service.🤨😳 pic.twitter.com/E6GIJ3i5tZ

The post sparked online outrage as followers criticized Allegiant Stadium, which is also home to the Las Vegas Raiders, for its astronomical prices. A quick look at the NFL venue’s menu shows ridiculous costs of other food items, too.
Rather than address the pricing, which UNLV football likely has no control over, the Rebels decided to make light of the situation. They trolled the complaints, urging fans to eat before arriving to the stadium in order to avoid spending an arm and a leg for a basic sporting event meal.
Suited for San Jose 👔

Pizza Rock is the establishment that partners with Allegiant Stadium. There happens to be a location in downtown Las Vegas about 20 minutes outside of the stadium. Prices at the restaurant are much lower than those offered inside the suites.
We can all agree that paying $300 for a pizza, and another $200 for what looked to be overcooked chicken fingers, is insane. UNLV provided a solution!
Stadium pricing has been a growing concern for many as the average fan continues to get priced out of attending a football game on Saturdays. Beer has gone up. Food has gone up. Those taking in the contest in luxury seating are likely to pay even more!
UNLV football fans won’t have to deal with those costs this Friday with the team travelling to San Jose State. They can enjoy the game at a much lower price outside of Allegiant Stadium! The Rebs made light of the situation following the $600 complaint. They’ll look to pick up a win over the Spartans on the road to move to 9-2 on the year.
