A US Open fan is going viral on Wednesday after being brutally friend-zoned on live TV. Making matters worse, the tennis-goer was left with only a pricey bar tab following the denial

His dignity, meanwhile, was gone!

Cameras panned from the court to the crowd during a break in the tennis action, catching a man returning to his seat with two drinks in hand.

One was for him while the other appeared to be for a female companion sitting next to him in the stands. Details on their relationship are unknown, but she made it very clear that she hadn’t expected any favors from her friend!

Just as the man sat down to hand her the extra drink, she turned to another fan sitting in the row above. The result can be described as pure cinema.

The woman accepts a drink from the fan behind her, paying no mind to the chivalrous gentleman sitting directly to her right.

As you see the man’s face drop, you see reality sinking in.

US Open fan left with pricey bar tab after brutal denial.

Those drinks he’s carrying are Honey Deuce cocktails, a staple at US Open events. They come with a price tag of nearly $25 a pop.

From Grey Goose:

The iconic Honey Deuce™ is the signature cocktail of the US Open. Enjoy one in the stands as you toast to excellence in tennis. You can purchase a Honey Deuce™ at the 2024 US Open for the price of $23, and you get to keep the commemorative, collectible souvenir cup while supplies last.

The vodka drink is “a refreshing take on a raspberry lemonade,” according to the site. “The honeydew melon ball garnish perfectly replicates tennis balls and makes you feel like you are in the stands.”

That $23 price went up from last year’s $22 mark, and it’s nearly $10 higher than what was seen at the 2012 US Open, leaving this fan with a wasted $50 bar trip.

Social media immediately erupted with response.

“I don’t normally condone violence, but…”

“His villain story starts now.”

“*Record scratch* – ‘You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.'”

“PAIN.”

Absolutely brutal to watch.
