USC defensive tackle Bear Alexander turned heads in the college football world on Saturday when he turned up for a visit to Georgia while still listed on the Trojans’ roster. Alexander transferred to USC from Georgia prior to the 2023 season but left the Trojans mid-way through the 2024 season.
Alexander cited lack of playing time as his reason for opting out of the Trojans’ difficult 2024 season. But he has not officially entered the transfer portal, which made Saturday’s appearance in Athens for Georgia’s huge game against the Tennessee Volunteers that much more surprising.

Alexander left the Trojans in September to redshirt and potentially re-enter the transfer portal.

USC DT Bear Alexander Has Lengthy History Of Switching Schools
Should Alexander follow through and leave the Trojans in the offseason, it would continue a worrisome trend for his career. The former four-star prospect played for four different high schools in four years and now it looking at three different colleges in four seasons. Although, if he returns to Georgia that would technically be two schools in four years.
Alexander’s move from Georgia to USC also seemed to come with some sweet perks, including an unbelievable looking apartment in Los Angeles. His father Tony has not helped matters at USC, complaining about playing time on social media.
“But s– what y’all want from him with 21 f—ing snaps?” his dad replied to a follower on Twitter after the Michigan game. “But let’s watch every snap from the interior defensive lineman this game and let’s see who the f— was WHO. My son won’t be the scapegoat. If you ask me, he had the best game inside, in only 21 f—ing snaps.”
Would Kirby Smart have him back at Georgia? That’s the big question. But it appears Alexander is at least interested in a potential return to the Dawgs.
