USC is living rent-free in the heads of UCLA women’s college basketball team year-round. Even when the Bruins aren’t playing the Trojans!

A scout team player who goes by ‘O2’ is a popular personality on TikTok and YouTube. He provides an inside look at what it’s like to serve as a practice squad athlete.

O2 and the scout team is a group of guys who learn the upcoming opponent’s style of play, sets, and defensive principles. Their job is to emulate their style of play during different drills at practices.

Here is a good look at a day in his life:

Anyway, O2 recently shared an awesome video from practice.

He took the inbounds pass from the baseline, turned up the court and fired the most casual shot from well beyond half court at the buzzer. It went in!

The shot was awesome. The reaction to the shot was far too subdued.

However, that is not the point here! Take a look at the scout team’s jerseys.

Notice how they are USC colors? Well, that video was posted four days ago — prior to UCLA’s game against Oregon State on Jan. 7. The Bruins do not host the Trojans until this coming Sunday.

Did they look past the Beavers while focusing on their crosstown rivals? It sure seems that way!

Now, it is entirely unclear as to whether the UCLA women’s basketball scout team wears those kits year-round, or if this was because it will soon travel to South Central to face USC.

Either way, the Bruins are allowing the Trojans to live rent-free in their heads!

(Let’s be clear that this is not super uncommon in college basketball. That doesn’t make it any less funny to see a team constantly thinking about its rivals. If we’re going to mock Michigan football for the ‘Beat Ohio State’ and ‘Beat Georgia’ drills, we have to keep that same energy!)
