Team France’s Victor Wembanyama is a large human being. The NBA’s most recent No. 1 overall pick stands 7′ 4″ on the basketball court, providing a massive obstacle for opponents attempting to get to the hoop.

That height was never more emphasized than in a recent Olympic matchup against Japan. The big man absolutely towered over his competition!

Wembanyama’s size made headlines throughout his rookie NBA season. He makes even Joel Embiid look like a regular guy!

The 20-year-old sports a size 20.5 shoe while boasting an impressive eight-foot wingspan.

He is not human!

Wembanyama is the tallest basketball player at the Olympics this year, though he does stand a couple of inches shorter than China’s head coach Yao Ming.

On Tuesday, he faced off against the shortest player in the men’s field.

Images of Wembanyama standing next to guard Yuki Togashi of Japan are beginning to circulate social media following the head-to-head contest in Paris.

Wembanyama is a full two feet taller than his counterpart!

Team France actually boasts two of the three tallest trees on the hardwood while Team Japan has the two shortest players at the Olympics on the men’s side. Yuki Togashi is listed at 5′ 6″ while teammate Yuki Kawamura stands 5′ 8″.

That, however, didn’t stop the Japanese squad from taking France to the limit in a controversial overtime loss to the host country.

Victor Wembanyama used his size to his advantage, racking up 18 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Despite the size difference, Togashi and Kawamura combined for 32 points and seven three-pointers in the four-point loss.
