Today I saw a headline on Ohio-based sports blog Busted Coverage that said, “Is DeShone Kizer Johnny Manziel 2.0?”
And while that may sound harsh, after seeing video of Kizer partying at 1:30 AM on Friday night/Saturday morning, just a couple of days after being reinstated as the Browns’ starting quarterback, plus other comments Kizer has made, one does have to wonder.
A couple of weeks back Kizer was caught liking a tweet that said, “The Browns are and have always will be the worst organization in the league.”
Then this past Sunday Kizer, after partying Friday night, went out and tossed two interceptions to keep the Browns’ record perfect at 0-7 and lowering his QB rating to 47.8 with 3 TDs and 11 INTs.
After the game, when coach Hue Jackson was asked about Kizer being out at a bar til at least 1:30AM Saturday morning he said that “he thought there must be some mistake.”
“I think our guys work at what they do, and I’d be surprised if that happened,” replied Jackson. “I have never heard of that. I don’t think DeShone has that kind of character or personality that way.”
Hue sounds like he needs to find a clue, because it happened and it was most definitely caught on video.
When asked about it, Kizer didn’t exactly sound too remorseful…

Maybe when Hue Jackson supposedly texted DeShaun Watson telling him to be ready on Draft Day he really did mean it, but when it came time for the Browns to pick they accidentally chose the one who spells his name DeShone. It’s might like that would be a total Brown move.
After all, it was way back in June when Jackson said that his quarterback situation was already driving him to drink.
Oh what could have been, huh, Browns fans?
Eh, at least you’ll have this to keep you warm this winter…
