If you are a football junkie slash nerd then you are going to LOVE the interaction that took place between former NFL QBs Kurt Warner and Dan Orlovsky on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
It all began with a video Orlovsky posted to Twitter critiquing Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen and his ability to read a defense.
It’s just something that’s easily fixable. Understanding what you have called on offense-what’s the problem of the defense-what’s your plan to handle. Allen has done some nice stuff-GOT TO SEE GROWTH IN THIS AREA! #NFLGamePass #NFLPartner @TheBillsMafia @SteveTasker89 #BillsMafia pic.twitter.com/3rtP2RnMAu

Hall of Famer Kurt Warner (Is he still planning a comeback?), who apparently follows Orlovsky on Twitter chimed in to disagree with Orlovsky’s take.
By same logic u could assume that nickel off the point of bunch CANT come either?? Based on way OL blocks play – he would have been HOT if all 3 guys off backside came hoping the back was blocking (which happens all the time)… that is more feasible than other Nickel coming IMO!

Orlovsky did not agree with Warner’s assessement, if he even understood it in the first place, which it appears he may not have completely.
“If” the back was blocking it would be 6 man then, again, only issue you would have would be the nickel then. The issue is the nickel #’s wise no matter how it shakes out whether empty 5 man pro or 6 man pro.

So Warner explained further.
Yes if 6 man… but it’s not, so immediate threat is backside bec u assume Nickel is covering 1 of the men in the bunch! So u have to make sure all 3 backside guys don’t come or you are HOT to your back… u have to assume man in that case, prob is its a ZDog & rules don’t apply!

Orlovsky still wasn’t biting.
1 of those guys CANNOT come. They have to cover the back. Only 2 of them can be a threat. If all 3 comes, the back is uncovered. They all 3 can’t. The #1 threat, whether it is 6 man prot or 5 man is the nickel. If Haha was down to the same side, diff story. He’s in MOF

At this point, Warner tried one more time to convince Orlovsky, dropping his fourth exclamation point of the debate.
So by same logic how can u say Nickel could blitz… he has to Cover 1 of the bunch guys, right??? You’re using logic on 1 side but not the other? If it’s man across the board then Nickel is in coverage & so is 1 of backside guys bec Haha is in middle & not covering for either!

So… did you understand all of that? If you did, you, my friend, are a football nerd.
I didn’t, but I am still going to side with Warner on this one because he’s a former MVP with only 90 less touchdown passes in the NFL than Orlovsky had passes total (208-298) and, well…
