Deshaun Watson’s last-minute change of heart send the NFL world ablaze. The 27-year-old quarterback decided to waive his no-trade clause and is set to be traded to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a large haul of draft picks. Once he gets there, he is getting PAID.
Less than 24 hours prior to the news, the expectation was that Watson would not be headed to Ohio. He had reportedly told the Browns that he was not interested and narrowed his decision down to Atlanta and New Orleans.
Many, if not most analysts believed that the Georgia-native was going to head back to his home state and play for the Falcons. That is obviously no longer the case.
However, not only did Watson’s decision surprise the entire world, but it reportedly threw off the plans of some notable free agents.
According to uSTADIUM, Jarvis Landry, Leonard Fournette and A.J. Green had plans to sign with Atlanta if Watson was traded east. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler is said to have corroborated the report as well.

Obviously, the trio of talent could still choose to sign with the Falcons. But, without Watson, the chances of that happening diminish greatly.
Atlanta has a strong offensive core of talent. Adding two veteran wide receivers who have produced in recent years and a running back who consistently puts up strong numbers would have been extremely valuable.
Instead, the Falcons are without Watson. And, more than likely, they will not be able to get Landry, Fournette and Green.
Atlanta fans must be sick.
