Jillian Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, has filed for divorce. Her divorce filing comes just months after she was shot by Los Angeles Police officers and arrested for attempted murder.
In April, LAPD officers were searching the neighborhood where Jillian and Scott Shriner have a home. Police were looking for three suspects involved in a hit-and-run on a freeway in the area.
During the search, Jillian Shriner, a New York Times bestselling author, appeared on her front lawn and pointed a gun at the police officers. After repeatedly asking her to drop the weapon, she did not comply. An officer would end up shooting her. She then fled into her home and was later taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A shell casing found at the scene suggested she had shot at the officers before being hit by return fire.
She was initially charged with attempted murder and released after posting a $1 million bail. Shriner eventually pleaded not guilty to felony discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, and felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
She was spared more jail time after a judge granted her a two-year mental health diversion program. If she successfully completes the program, which includes abstaining from using illicit drugs and alcohol and not being in possession of any guns or knives, the case will be dismissed by the court.

On Tuesday, TMZ reports, Jillian Shriner filed for divorce after 20 years of marriage. The documents give “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce filing and a separation date of “TBD.”
The couple has two children together, a 17-year-old and a 13-year-old. She is seeking joint legal and physical custody. She is also seeking spousal support, and requested that Scott, 60, not be awarded any spousal support.
