Everyone knows that New York Yankees fans are pretty passionate about their team. They have a reputation as being loud and proud fans that dates back generations.
But, occasionally, things get out of hand. That’s what happened during Game 5 of the World Series between the Yankees and the Dodgers, as beloved actor Wendell Pierce was heckled by Yankees fans, causing him to leave the game.
Game 4 had an incident with Yankee fans involved as well, when two fans tried to take the ball out of Dodger outfielder Mookie Betts’ glove. Those two fans were not allowed to attend Game 5, and their tickets were given to a kid battling pediatric cancer.
Wendell Pierce, who came to fame playing Bunk Moreland in the critically acclaimed The Wire, has been a beloved actor on the big screen, television, and on stage for decades. Few are as recognizable as Wendell Pierce is. And, he’s always been a big sports fan.
But, he had an experience he’d like to forget at Yankee Stadium during Game 5. Take a look.

That is a terrible look, Yankees fans. C’mon, guys.
Maybe Wendell Pierce will take some solace into the fact that those same fans had to witness one of the worst chokes in sports history. The Yankees blew a 5-0 lead with some truly awful errors to lose Game 5, and the series, 7-6.
