Joe Burrow’s NFL career has absolutely flourished after a rough first year with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cincy selected Burrow first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. He showed flashes of brilliance in 10 starts as a rookie before suffering a torn ACL that put him on the shelf long-term.
Since then, however, he’s transformed into one of the league’s best quarterbacks and the Bengals look like Super Bowl contenders for years to come.
Burrow threw for 4,611 yards, 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2021 during the regular season before leading Cincy on an improbable run to the Super Bowl.
This year, he’s picked up where he left off. Burrow put up 4,475 yards 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions despite a slow start. He was named to his first Pro Bowl, and the Bengals are yet again a Super Bowl threat
He’s also putting in work off the field. Burrow is invested in a number of different project. But it’s the purchase of a 104-acre farm alongside a number of different athletes that raised some eyebrows.
Joe Burrow Teams With Blake Griffin To Purchase Huge Farm In Iowa
According to Owen Poindexter of Front Office Sports, Burrow recently purchased a piece of a 104-acre farm in northern Iowa.
Joe Burrow, Blake Griffin, Kevin Gausman, Anders Lee, and around 20 other athletes are purchasing a farm in Iowa. The purchase was made from a fund of roughly $5 million for agricultural investments that each contributed to.
- The group is purchasing a 104-acre, corn- and soy-focused farm in northern Iowa through a special-purpose vehicle arranged by Patricof Co.
- Kemba Walker, Khris Middleton, Zach Ertz, and Sam Hubbard are also buying in.
- The group will lease the land to farmers and seek a single-digit-percentage annual return on the total investment.
The report states that Burrow and company also intend to purchase four other farms in the coming years, including a potential watermelon farm in Oregon.
Burrow still has another decade or two in the NFL if he wants it. But if things don’t work out, Farmer Joe doesn’t sound all that bad.
