The William & Mary baseball team is putting up some major offensive numbers this season.
Despite the team being just 9-9 on the year, the Tribe has scored at least nine runs in half of their games. That includes an insane 21-run output in a win over Princeton. They’ve also hit marks of 15, 11, and 10 (twice).
The offensive fireworks didn’t stop last night.
In a midweek win over ACC foe Duke, the Tribe lit the Blue Devils up to the tune of a 14-3 shellacking. William & Mary recorded 12 hits on the night, with half going for extra bases. Four left the ballpark.

Duke pitching had no answer for the William & Mary attack, and this game was over well before it got started.
The Tribe jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the second inning thanks to back-to-back-to-back bombs from the top of the order. More impressively, those homers came on three consecutive pitches.
Check it out below.

Duke pitchers had to be absolutely baffled. I mean, it’s tough to build confidence when seeing three straight pitches find the stands. Often, they don’t even look back to see how far the home runs travelled. They were no-doubters.
It was 1-2-3 hitters Mark Trotta, Matt Thomas, and Cole Ragone who pulled off the feat, redirecting those incoming pitches to the empty bleachers beyond the outfield fence.
For Thomas, this was nothing new. He’s already homered six times over the team’s first 18 games. For Trotta and Ragone, though, it was just their first and second home runs of the year, respectively.
The Tribe will return home this weekend for some conference action against CAA opponent UNC Wilmington. But for now, they’ll soak in this impressive feat following a win over a Power Five foe.
