Wiz Khalifa threw out a high first pitch on Monday night, and we’re not just referencing the ball’s location. The rapper tweeted that he planned to get stoned before making his appearance on the mound.

We’re not sure if Khalifa made true on that promise, but he certainly entertained viewers. Many have posted reactions as the first pitch goes viral.

Not surprisingly, this took place in Pittsburgh, the team Dock Ellis pitched for when famously throwing a no-hitter on LSD. Khalifa attended high school in the Steel City and his ‘Black and Yellow’ hit became an anthem for the city in 2010.

This week, he had the honor of tossing out the opening pitch ahead of the Pirates’ matchup with the Guardians. He planned to enjoy the moment to its fullest potential.

Now, Wiz Khalifa and weed have become synonymous with one another since his bursting onto the music scene at the turn of the century.

With album names like Rolling Papers and Kush and Orange Juice, it’s easy to see why. The rapper is widely known for his marijuana usage, and he even owns his own cannabis brand.

It wasn’t a shock to see the tweet, especially considering he’s previously upset the MLB for making puffing gestures on the mound, but that didn’t mean fans weren’t eager to tune in.

A better angle of the pitch shows that he might’ve been a bit outside. Still, it was much better than some other embarrassing tosses we’ve seen this baseball season.

Not too bad, all things considered.

Viewers rushed to social media to post reactions to the pitch.

While Khalifa’s first pitch was entertaining, it’s the Pirates who appear to be playing under the influence. Through seven innings of action, they trail Cleveland 9-0.
