On July 18, during a match on Saturday Night’s Main Event, New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns made a surprise appearance during a No Disqualification match involving Danhausen and J.D. McDonagh. WWE star Dominik Mysterio, who is part of The Judgement Day along with McDonagh, was ringside.
Danhausen, who claimed to have “helped” the Knicks win the NBA Championship by lifting a “curse” he put on the franchise prior to the NBA Finals, was decked out in Knicks colors. Sadly, for him, McDonagh, in the process of defeating Danhausen, wiped his rear-end with a Knicks jersey then after the win, he and Mysterio ripped the jersey right off of Danhausen’s prone body.
Then, as some Minihausens appeared and began fighting Dominik Mysterio and J.D. McDonagh, Danhausen was seen working with his “cloning machine.” That’s when the 2026 NBA Champion popped out and started cleaning house.
First, Karl-Anthony Towns grabbed McDonagh by the throat and chokeslammed him in the ring. Then, KAT snatched Mysterio and chokeslammed him through a table that was set up in the ring.
What was it like being chokeslammed by an NBA champion?
On Wednesday, Dominik Mysterio appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show and shared what it was like being chokeslammed by the New York Knicks star at Madison Square Garden.
“I mean, I don’t know if I’d put it that way as one of the great honors of my career because I’ve definitely had some moments at MSG, but that one would definitely be a top-five moment for me,” Mysterio told Helwani. “Getting chokeslammed through a table by an NBA champion at MSG, that’s insane. Never did I expect it to happen, but now we’re here. Dirty Dom does it all.”
When Helwani asked Mysterio if he was surprised at how good Karl-Anthony Towns was during his WWE appearance, Mysterio replied,
“I’ll tell you one thing. He came in ready, man. As soon as he goozled me, I felt that he was, like, the energy he was bringing to that. He was ready to put me through that table.”
As for Dominik will ever be able to get back at KAT for what he did, Mysterio told Helwani, “You know? Never say never. There’s a numbers game with The Judgment Day.
“So, I don’t know if you recently just watched AAA, but I just aligned myself with a giant by the name of Omos. If KAT wants to keep getting involved in Judgment Day business, I might have to make another phone call. Call Omos.”
