The New York Yankees blew a two-run lead late in the game on Monday night against the Los Angeles Angels.

Shohei Ohtani hit a monster home run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game up that led to an iconic bat flip to emphasize the momentum shift in the game.

With that said, the Yankees are essentially falling apart and the fanbase is now calling for Aaron Boone’s job as manager.

Considering Ohtani is basically a unicorn, many baseball fans believed the smart play, especially that late in the contest, would be to intentionally walk the Angels phenom.

But Boone didn’t make the call and Shohei Ohtani capitalized. During the post-game presser, the media asked Aaron Boone if he even considered walking Ohtani and his answer has Yankees fans in fits.

To be fair, it’s not like anyone could guess that the ball was going to be smashed out of the park. Regardless, it’s Shohei Ohtani. Arguably the best athlete in the world.

On top of that, Monday’s loss put the Yankees in dead last in the AL East, which is something we haven’t seen since 1990, per ESPN Stats & Info.

The wheels are falling off in New York and it doesn’t seem like the problems will be fixed anytime soon.

Yankees fans are completely fed up and they’re ready for Aaron Boone to be let go.

The fanbase just hate his response too.

Yeah. Boone’s days might be numbered.

Not the best look for the Yankees manager.

A new face at manager might be what this team needs to turn things around.

The Yankees are in an incredibly tough spot right now at this point in the season.

So, we’ll see what the front office decides to do. There’s a chance they choose to ride out the remainder of the season with Boone in charge.

With that said, based on how things are going, we may not see Aaron Boone as the Yankees manager much longer.
