46-year-old Yoel Romero is fighting for the Bellator light heavyweight world championship against Vadim Nemkov on Friday but he was a no-show at this week’s press conference.
On Wednesday, Bellator held their Bellator 297 press conference at the Skydeck of the Willis Tower.
Apparently Romero is extremely afraid of heights and refused to attend the press conference. The former UFC middleweight contender joined via Zoom from his hotel bed instead.

Yoel Romero isn’t scared of ANYTHING.

Romero explained his decision to skip the presser.
“I apologize to everybody, but getting inside that building is a fight I know that I’m not going to win. ”
“Not even with my kids have I been able to go up on a Ferris Wheel”
Yoel would later hilariously do his face off against Nemkov via zoom.
Vadim Nemkov and Yoel Romero had a virtual staredown ahead of Friday's #Bellator297 main event title fight.
