When he’s at his best, New Orleans Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson is one of the most dominant players in the entire NBA.

Sadly for Williamson and Pelicans fans, he’s often not at his best due to injuries that have hampered his young career.

But it appears Williamson is finally ready to commit to his health this offseason, and he displayed as much in a new photo that shows off what appears to be a dramatic weight loss.

Instagram user Scott G., who goes by the handle @AClemsonFan4Life, posted a picture of his sons at Williamson’s youth basketball camp, and the difference in physique is staggering.

Previous reports suggest that Williamson ballooned to over 300 pounds in the 2023 offseason while dealing with a nagging injury.

Williamson’s weight gain was so dramatic that ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith even called him out over his poor eating habits.

“It’s not about his game. It’s about how many burgers he’s eating. Whether he is going to be in shape or keep eating McDonald’s… That’s what he has to prove, that the chefs don’t love him any longer,” Smith said.

Smith notoriously suggested that chefs in New Orleans love when Williamson comes to their restaurants because he will “eat the table.”

“It is shameful. I got chefs in New Orleans. I’m not exaggerating,” he said. “I’m not exaggerating, I’m quoting people. You got chefs in New Orleans who love him. They’re looking for him. Every chef there wants to meet him because they know he’ll show up to their restaurant. The word out on Zion Williamson is that he’ll eat the table.”

Williamson has always been a big guy, even dating back to his time at Duke. But when he’s on the court, he’s a force to be reckoned with. And now that he’s apparently taking his weight more seriously, opposing NBA players might be in for a world of trouble.
