The New Orleans Pelicans are set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night in the play-in tournament.
However, all eyes are still on Zion Williamson, as his injury status is questionable for the postseason.
Well, the Pelicans’ star forward finally broke his silence about his injury and it has fans a bit concerned.
According to Christian Clark, Zion Williamson isn’t looking to rush a comeback. He also claims that the current injury is more mental than it is physical right now.
Zion just spoke for the first time post injury. Said his return is more about him feeling like himself mentally rather than how he’s feeling physically. Will play again “when I feel like Zion.”

If that’s the case, then there’s a chance that Zion Williamson is physically able to play. But the mentals have to be in order as well.
It’s no secret he’s struggled with injury and weight issues throughout his career. But hopefully, Williamson can return to action in the playoffs if the Pelicans can overcome the Thunder on Wednesday night.
At the end of the day, Pelicans fans are a bit anxious about Williamson’s availability. To be fair, if he’s not mentally ready, then he needs time to adjust.
On the other hand, the fanbase is hoping for the roster to be at full strength for a title run.

Fans are fed up with Zion Williamson’s comments.
I love Zion to death but his words and his actions don’t line up

This might be more common in sports than we think.
So he wants to play, but is holding himself out because he doesn’t feel mentally ready? What a weird situation

For now, Zion Williamson remains questionable for the Pelicans’ matchup against the Thunder.
Based on his recent comments and reports, it’s not looking like he’ll return for the play-in tournament.
With that said New Orleans will likely closely monitor Williamson moving forward. Especially if they get a win and advance to the postseason.
