Puma’s Sonic The Hedgehog Sneakers Are Like Dipping Your Feet Into Your Childhood

I know I’m not the only one who thinks of Sonic The Hedgehog as simply a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog who can run at supersonic speeds and curl into a ball to destroy enemies. Sonic represents something more than just world’s best-known video game character. Sonic drums up childhood nostalgia with the heaviest hitters–Zach Morris and AC Slater, Doug Funny and Patty Mayonnaise, and of course, Topanga Lawrence.

That’s why when PUMA and SEGA officially announced the worldwide release date of the PUMA x SEGA RS-0 Sonic and Dr. Eggman sneakers, I was overcome with the joy only a child could experience.

Both editions will be priced at $130.00 and will be released on June 5th.

SEGA RS-0 Sonic’s upper is made from a textured suede wistful of Sonic’s trademark blue fur while the red outsole corresponds to his shoes. The golden bottom resembles the rings that embellish the Green Hill Zone level. They are attractive.

The PUMA x SEGA RS-0 Dr. Eggman take cues from Sonic the Hedgehog’s archnemesis, from his flashy outfit to the black and yellow caution stripes from his Eggmobile represented by the sneaker’s all-over red upper and footbed, the press release states. Check ’em out.
