Mitchell Cohen liked his job at Morgan Stanley.

He rose to the rank of Vice President in just seven years, liked all the people he worked with, and might still be in the position if it weren’t for his wife taking photos of Mitchell during one specific activity.

Unhappy with the hundred-plus hours of work Mitch clocked in every week, Mrs. Cohen started snapping pics every time she caught her husband doing work on his phone.

“She’s got a whole album of pictures of me on my iPhone,” Cohen told Business Insider, “when we were at brunch on the weekends or on vacation.”

This extensive library of shots prompted Mitch to consider a different – and much sweeter- career.

His parents owned a candy store, Economy Candy, and Cohen quit his high-paying gig to help run the family business.

He immediately sold his confections online and realized that a straightforward philosophy is a key to crushing it in the candy biz.

Give customers what they crave for almost nothing.

One pound of candy for $4.

Keep things cheap and they keep coming back.

Cohen has no plans to expand the business past the one brick-and-mortar spot and the online store.

That means his wife will probably have to find another photo subject.
