Cybersecurity expert John McAfee has made some pretty spot-on predictions about Bitcoin in the past. He previously predicted that Bitcoin would hit $5,000 at some point in 2017. At this very moment, Bitcoin is at $16,977.58. So his estimate was conservative. But he’s tapped into the community and he’s got his finger on the pulse.

McAfee’s latest prediction has people salivating: John says Bitcoin will hit $1 million by the end of 2020. We’re just a few weeks away from 2018, so John McAfee is betting that Bitcoin will surge from $17,000 to $1,000,000 in 36 short months. Will he be proven right? He was correct with the $5,000 prediction and that was a conservative estimate.

“I will still eat my dick if wrong.”…Bro, do you really need to set the bar there? Surely, you could’ve said “I’ll eat some rotten meat from the grocery store” and people would’ve been like “damn, this guy’s for real and he means business!” Did you really need to proclaim that you’d eat your own dick if Bitcoin doesn’t hit $1 million by the end of 2018? That’s just backing you into a foxhole that you’d rather not be in.

At one point in his life, John McAfee’s net worth was over $100 million. This was before the market crash in 2008 and before he was sought by police in 2012 for questioning related to his neighbor’s death. His net worth is all but gone at this point, and by that I mean he’s probably worth just several million dollars instead of $100M+. So he’s definitely one of those extremely successful people who has seen the mountaintop and is angling to get back there.
