In less time than it takes you to collect and throw all your dirty clothes in the laundry basket, someone transferred $99 million in Litecoin. And for less money than this $0.85 plastic bag dispenser, someone transferred $99 million in Litecoin. Some filthy rich person or entity transferred $99 million in Litecoin with 150 seconds and it only cost them $0.40. This is pretty remarkable.

A massive and impressive Litecoin trade happened on Thursday to the tune of $99 million. The incredible figure of $99 million is nearly triple the GDP of the nation of Tuvalu ($39 million). The transaction sent $99 million-worth of Litecoin from two cryptocurrency wallets in a single trade. The identity of the lucky person who is transferring nearly $100 million was not available. Details of the enormous transaction was posted online.

Attempting to process this much money at a traditional bank would have taken days and with numerous transaction costs. The crazy part is that Litecoin isn’t the fastest cryptocurrency, Ripple is with a processing speed of around 70,000 transactions per second compared to Litecoin that can do 56 transactions per second. Still, making a $99 million trade in two-and-a-half minutes is pretty astonishing.

Litecoin is currently the sixth largest cryptocurrency by market value, with $8,484,224,020 worth of Litecoins and has a value of $150.92 as of publication according to Coin Market Capitalization.
