Raise your hand if you’re incredibly stoked that there’s a Bob’s Burgers movie on the way! **This is me raising my hand. You can’t see me, but I’m sitting here in a cabin up in the Adirondacks raising my hand and typing one-handed with the other hand raised. Oh, and I’m watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall on Cinemax because this movie ever gets old**
News broke earlier today that there’s a Bob’s Burgers movie coming, and not only is the film in the works but it already has a release date and it’s set to hit theaters on July 17th, 2020. According to UPROXX, Loren Bouchard (Bob’s Burgers Writer/Producer) announced the upcoming film earlier today:
“We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen,” Bouchard said. “We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s, but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!” (via)
If you clicked on this article then I’ll go ahead and assume that, like myself, you’re a fan of Bob’s Burgers. I haven’t kept up with episodes of The Simpsons in at least 10 years, and I haven’t found Family Guy the least bit funny since Freshman Year of college. When it comes to animated TV series, the only ones I actively look forward to these days are Bob’s Burgers, South Park, and Rick & Morty.
The July 17th, 2020 film premiere date is halfway between the show’s eventual 10th and 11th seasons, and it’s pretty dope to see that FOX is committing to this show in such a big way when it’s definitely the funniest thing they have going right now.
