It’s going to be really weird this NFL season when we see Bill Belichick in his new media gigs and not on an NFL sideline. The six-time Super Bowl Champion parted ways with the New England Patriots this offseason after a 4-13 season.

Belichick interviewed for a few head coaching jobs this offseason but didn’t land any. Many assume that won’t be the case for long, though.

Belichick, 72, seems likely to return to coaching in the near future. When he does, Indianapolis Colts General Manager Chris Ballard wants him out of the AFC.

Ballard made the comments during the Pat McAfee Show’s coverage of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday night. Coach Belichick was a panelist on the show on Thursday night.

“Hey Belichick, when you come back in the league, go in the NFC” Ballard said.

Ballard has been an executive in the AFC for over a decade. He spent four years in Kansas City, before joining the Colts as general manager prior to the 2017 season. He knows the terror that Belichick inflicted on the AFC, as he won ten AFC Championships in a nineteen-year span between 2001-2019.

Bill Belichick went 17-8 as the coach of the Patriots against the Indianapolis Colts, with four of those wins coming in playoff games.

The Colts selected UCLA defensive end Laiatu Latu with the 15th pick in the NFL Draft.
