The Stars Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Are Reportedly Going To Make So. Much. Money. In The Following Seasons

Disclaimer: I haven’t watch Game of Thrones since Season 3. I tried jumping back into the mix in Season 5, but I quickly realized I was more lost than Ray Charles in a corn maze. My hiatus wasn’t spurred by disinterest as I thought the show was pretty damn entertaining, but one thing that I’ve taken great pride in in my life is not starting anything I finish. Sometimes I even fall asleep while masturbating. Some call this a flaw, I call it a gift.

One thing I’ve learned now that the show has become ubiquitous in our culture, is that I must learn superficial facts about the show in order to stay relevant in my friend group. And while I can’t contribute to discussing plot lines and all those fucking exhausting fan theories, I can learn fun, compelling facts about the show that will keep my friends returning my texts and avoid this situation.

AMIRIGHT GUYS!

And I found just the thing that everyone can relate to: money. As Deadline reports, the main characters from the record-breaking show are set to get PAID for the final chapter of the saga.

Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) will all be paid north of $500,000 an episode for Season 7, which has been officially picked up, and Season 8, which is widely expected.

This is reportedly a $200,000 raise from the $300,000 each character was making in prior seasons.

While it’s believed that the final two seasons won’t be as long as the 10-episodes we’ve you’ve come to expect (like seven episodes for Season 7 and six for Season 8), the trademark characters will pull in a total of $6.5 million over the course of two seasons. Not bad.

So now that I know this info, let’s role-play in preparation for the next boring convo with my friends.

Friend: What did you think of that Battle where a lot of people died and they rode horses and looked like they hadn’t showered in years?

Me: It was KILLER, man. Did you know that the imp dude is going to make $6.5 million over the next two seasons.

Friend: Oh shit, really man? That’s sweet. But what were your exact thoughts on that battle?

Me: I swallowed a bug. Brb.
