This Brilliantly Simple Hack Could Free Up A Bunch Of Space On Your iPhone

You know how much it sucks when you want to download a new app or a movie to your iPhone and you get that dreaded message that your storage is too full? It’s just the worst, right? You’re then forced to delete things you really don’t want to delete and it seems like a never-ending loop of you losing one thing you like after another just to be able to put new stuff on your phone.

So if you keep getting messages that you are very low on memory, this simple, clever hack discovered by Redditor eavesdroppingyou might just be your saving grace.

Not sure if this is well-known, might be but definitely some people don’t know it.

I have an iPhone with 16 Gb so I’m always dealing with low storage. A trick I do to get back some storage is to try to ‘rent’ a movie with a big file size (something like LOTR: two towers).

Just go to iTunes and search for the movie (with a bigger file size than what you have left on storage), click rent and soon you’ll get the message saying you don’t have enough storage and offers you to go to settings. Click that and magically you will get some storage back (probably it erases some useless data from different apps to try to download the movie).

Repeat the process 4-5 times and before you know it you recovered 1 to almost 2 Gb. Try it!

Turns out that a lot of people did, in fact, try it and the results seem to be VERY promising.

So there you go. Once again the internet comes through to save of us from more of Apple’s foolishness and attempts to get us to spend more money (i.e. buy more memory next time).
