Aussie Who Punched Kangaroo To Save His Dog Now Fears For His Life After Getting Threats From Animal Activists

The viral video of an Australian man punching a kangaroo in the face after it attacked his dog has elicited mixed emotions. Some people understand why Greig Tonkins punched the kangaroo because they would do anything to protect their dog from harm. Others claim that the kangaroo let go of the dog so Tonkins should have allowed the kangaroo to be because it didn’t seem to be a threat to anyone or any dogs. However, those opinions are now manifesting to the point that people are trying to get Tonkins fired from his job and even threatening his life.

Tonkins, who is a father-of-two, was forced to call police after fearing for his life and welfare of his family when animal rights activists were outside his home on Wednesday morning.

The always reasonable PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) weighed in on the situation.

“Punching a kangaroo in the face is neither brave nor funny, it’s illegal, as is harassing native wildlife with dogs,” PETA’s campaign coordinator Claire Fryer said. “The man in this video should be prosecuted instead of being made out to be a national hero.”

The 34-year-old man, who is from Dubbo in country New South Wales, became an internet sensation after punching a kangaroo to save his dog named Max. Now people from all around the world condemned his punch (Let’s be honest, it was a rather pussy punch, and was more like a soft jab). Some are even calling for him to loose his job as an elephant keeper at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo.

The zoo has since announced that Tonkins would keep his job as an elephant keeper, but there could still be reprecussions.

“Mr Tonkins is an experienced zookeeper and during his six years at Taronga Western Plains Zoo has always followed Taronga’s best practice approach to animal care and welfare,” the zoo said in a statement. “We continue to work with Mr Tonkins on his conduct in regards to this incident.”

Tonkins is such an evil person that he was only out by the kangaroo because he was taking his dying friend on his final hunting trip before he passed away from cancer. Sounds like a terrible person.

For fuck’s sake, Tonkins is an elephant keeper. If someone hated animals they wouldn’t choose a career where they spend half their day shoveling up monster pachyderm turds.

Realistically speaking, this is the only one who should be threatening Tonkins.
