Let’s say the Mets and the Red Sox are in the World Series and you’re a Yankees fan. You’ve talked shit about both teams for years. If you’re a true fan then you don’t root for the Red Sox or the Mets, you hope for a meteor to crash into Fenway Park like a real fan should. This is not the same in politics. You have to swallow your pride and represent your party hard, even if that means publicly supporting your adversary that recently said you weren’t fit to lead anything, not even a troop of Boy Scouts. The time for Bernie Sanders to wave the white flag and endorse Hillary Clinton came on Tuesday.
For months during the Democratic primaries Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders traded barbs, criticized their records, and said each other were not qualified to be the next president of the United States. Flash forward to today and you find a much different tone because Sanders formally endorsed Clinton.
Thank you to the 13 million Americans who voted for me and the hundreds of thousands of volunteers who worked so hard on our campaign.

“I have come here to make it as clear as possible why I am endorsing Hillary Clinton and why she must become our next president,” Sanders said while standing next to Clinton at a rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. “Secretary Clinton has won the Democratic nomination and I congratulate her for that.”

“This campaign is not really about Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders. This campaign is about the needs of the American people and addressing the very serious crises that we face,” the 74-year-old democratic socialist said to a cheering crowd. “And there is no doubt in my mind that as we head into November, Hillary Clinton is far and away the best candidate to do that.”

“She will be the Democratic nominee for president, and I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States,” Sanders said of the former secretary of state.
We will never stop fighting for what is right. This movement of ours — this political revolution — must continue. https://t.co/111mljutrY

Our job now is to see our progressive platform implemented by a Democratic Senate, a Democratic House and a Hillary Clinton presidency.

“And now with your help, we are joining forces to defeat Donald Trump and win in November!” Clinton declared. “I can’t help but say how much more enjoyable this election is going to be when we are on the same side. You know what? We are stronger together!”
Did somebody say Donald Trump?
Trump was quick to fire off a flurry of tweets condemning the very progressive Bernie Sanders endorsement of “Crooked Hillary.”
Bernie Sanders, who has lost most of his leverage, has totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton. He will endorse her today – fans angry!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 12, 2016
I am somewhat surprised that Bernie Sanders was not true to himself and his supporters. They are not happy that he is selling out!

Bernie Sanders endorsing Crooked Hillary Clinton is like Occupy Wall Street endorsing Goldman Sachs.

Bernie sanders has abandoned his supporters by endorsing pro-war pro-TPP pro-Wall Street Crooked Hillary Clinton.

To all the Bernie voters who want to stop bad trade deals & global special interests, we welcome you with open arms. People first.

Sanders clapped back at Trump, bringing up the proposed debate that Donald and Bernie were supposed to have back in June.
Big talk from the same guy who was too afraid to debate Bernie in California. https://t.co/LVCjo0PKrN
— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) July 12, 2016
However, Trump declined to be in the debate by saying it was “inappropriate” for him to debate the “second-place finisher” in the Democratic primary.
Get ready for shit to go down now that the 2016 presidential election race is about to go full swing with the Democratic and Republican conventions to take place this month.
