“Hi, son. Would you like to play for the Seattle Seahawks next year?”
“YESSIRRRR!!!”
I mean, what else is there really to say at that point, right? Texas A&M offensive lineman Germain Ifedi was the very last pick of Thursday night’s first round of the NFL Draft, and clearly he was ecstatic about it – as were his whole crew surrounding him. I’m sure he’s a great dude, too, but I can’t get over how awkwardly the white guy I’m presuming is his agent reacted either.
When asked about being the last selection in the first round – and going to a power house where he’ll have a chance to protect Russell Wilson, Ifedi also offered up a pretty comical quote about his reaction to the phone call.
“It was a long wait, 30 picks, and if you get that call, you don’t know who it’s from. It could be a bill collector. You don’t know. You don’t know who’s calling you,” per Sheil Kapadia of ESPN.com.
Don’t think you’re going to have to worry about bill collectors anytime soon, Germain…
