A Gonzaga student was given a chance to make $500 by sinking a halfcourt shot during last night’s game against Southern Methodist. Thanks to the luckiest bounce in the world, he was successful.
His desperation heave bounded off the top of the backboard and somehow dropped right through the hoop, giving the crowd a thrill and the student plenty of beer money.
Kudos to the school for letting this stand, even though it may not have counted in a real game. It would have been a shame for this moment of greatness to be negated on a technicality.
