SHOTS FIRED: Holly Holm’s Agent Is Already Talking Shit To Ronda Rousey–And Guys Let’s Just Let Him Have This

Now look, if you don’t believe you can win every time you enter a competitive arena, there’s no point in even throwing your hat in the ring. I understand an agent calling out the most dominant force in MMA can be used as a motivational technique for his client, but it also sets a high precedence to deliver. Spouting off at the mouth to a seemingly unformidable opponent over four months before a fight and not delivering sets you up to be nothing more than a punchline.  A meme. Ask Bethe.

I hope Lenny Fresquez, the agent of Rowdy Ronda’s next opponent, Holly Holm, kept this in mind when talking to TMZ Sports earlier today.

Fresquez seemed exceedingly confident his client can knock the champ off her thrown in their January 2nd showdown at Vegas’ MGM Grand.

Fresquez told TMZ,

“We don’t PLAN on taking Ronda’s belt, we ARE taking her belt.”

“I would like nothing else in the world than for [Ronda] to strike with Holly — Holly is the best striker in the world.”

“Holly isn’t Bethe Correia. She’s never seen a fighter like Holly. People don’t realize how much bigger and stronger Holly is than Ronda. She cleaned out the boxing division at 130, 137 and 154.”

The comments came completely unprovoked, as Rousey was extremely complimentary of the former world champion boxer when she appeared on Good Morning America.

Rousey said of Holm,

“January 2 I’ll be fighting Holly Holm, who’s the most decorated striker we have in all of mixed martial arts. Not the women’s division, not the bantamweight division. [Holm]’s a 19-time boxing champion. Holly Holm was The Ring magazine pound-for-pound Fighter of the Year, and definitely my biggest challenge to date.”

Even if Fresquez’s comments were just meant as theater to stew up even more excitement for the highly anticipated fight, I advise the him and the rest of the Holm camp to proceed with caution. Because if you take a shot at the champ, you best not miss.

Live look at the Champ while the Fresquez camp is talking shit:

Holly, by all means, have a ‘you’ day. Your days may be numbered, so live it up.
