I don’t think the numbers behind this survey from the folks at CollegeStats.org would surprise anyone. Everyone has a friend in their friend circle who hooked up with a professor or T.A. during their four-year undergrad experience. Hell — maybe it was even you. It might be unethical to the folks in the administration building, but everyone knows that chemistry happens when you put a bunch of horny 20-somethings together for the sake of higher education.
Here are some of the stats that landed in my inbox last week:
- Over half of us admit to fantasizing about a professor (52.57%), but only about 1 in 4 would act on it if they knew they’d never get caught (25.36%)
- Chances are high at least one of your lecturemates got dirty with the prof or TA, nearly 3 in 20 students cop to having an affair (14.04%)
- About 1 in 5 affairs was with a teacher of the sciences (19.6%). Anatomy, perhaps?
