If you click on this webcam overlooking Wake Forest’s main quad, Hearn Plaza, you’ll see a strange sight. The students have rolled it.
Did Wake just pull of a tourney upset? No. Did a professor win a Nobel Prize or something? Nah. The school just fired its basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik. Bzdelik was an unquestionably lackluster coach for the Deacons, going 17-51 in the ACC over a four-year period, including a jarring 2-32 road record in conference play.
(Wake Forest also lost to Stetson this year. Stetson. Stetson is an Atlantic Sun team that won seven total games.)
As of 5:50 p.m., two brahs were tossing a frisbee in the middle of the quad and it doesn’t look like anyone is making a move to take down the TP. Maybe the groundskeepers are celebrating too.
