The 2019 ‘Calgary Stampede’ Has Some Insane Fried Foods That Put Our State Fairs To Shame

For some reason, we (as Americans) take a lot of pride in eating like complete monsters during the Summer. Aside from the Nathan’s 4th of July Hotdog Eating Contest in Coney Island, nowhere is this more apparent than state fairs across America throughout the Summer.

The State Fair of Texas is the biggest in America with an estimated 2.25 MILLION visitors each year but the Minnesota State Fair isn’t far behind with an estimated 2 million visitors. At these fairs, you can find foods that would shock visitors from other countries. I’m talking about things like triple fried chocolate bacon (probably exists) or deep-fried Kool-Aid (definitely exists).

People travel from all across the country (and globe) to eat the fried food at these great American fairs but it appears as if we now have some competition from the 2019 Calgary Stampede, which is ‘an annual rodeo, exhibition, and festival held every July in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.’ It’s a 10-day event that’s pretty much the same as our state fairs but with a fancier name.

This year’s Calgary Stampede is offering up some straight up insane foods. The list includes everything from Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Frog Legs that have been fried to pickle-flavored everything to some outrageously flavored ice creams. I could spend all 10 days at this fair and not even come close to being able to sample all of these foods. There’s just too much to try.

Here’s the list of foods with some pictures down below:

Here’s that Dill Pickle Ice Pop

Those lobster dumplings just sound dope. I’d eat those at any restaurant.

For information on dates, tickets, events, and times of the 2019 Calgary Stampeded this July you can click here to visit their website. I looked it up on Google Maps and it’s only a 2,281-mile road trip from my house to this year’s Calgary Stampede (42 hours on the road) which is nothing, so I might have to make the trip.
