The Follow-Up To The Most Downvoted YouTube Video Ever Is Out, And People Hate TF Out Of It Too

2019 YouTube Rewind: The Follow-Up To Most Downvoted Video Ever

“In 2018, we made something you didn’t like. For Rewind 2019, let’s see what you DID like,” reads the description for the 2019 edition of the annual “YouTube Rewind” video.

YouTube isn’t joking about making something people didn’t like in 2018. Last year’s version of the “YouTube Rewind” was the most disliked video in the 14-year history of the platform with over 17 million people giving it a thumbs down.

Unfortunately for YouTube, their 2019 “Rewind” video is on track to also become one of the service’s most downvoted videos of all time.

It currently sits at over 2.9 million downvotes, less than 24 hours after it was released. For reference, 2018’s video got 10 million dislikes in its first eight days, so the 2019 edition is on quite a pace.

Naturally, a lot of those downvotes are probably just people trolling YouTube because, internet, but the company at least admitted their failure in 2018 and tried to correct things this year.

“You’re better at this than we are,” YouTube admits at the beginning of this year’s look back.

The video then shows numerous YouTubers’ negative reactions to 2018’s “Rewind” then takes a more analytical approach to who is featured than it did in 2018 showing the most-watched creators, most-watched music videos, dance videos, gaming videos, and videos overall, as well as a list of some of the most popular new creators and channels on the platform over the past 12 months.

Also… Pewdiepie.

Out of the 504,232 comments on this year’s “Rewind” video, this is the top one, even though it has less upvotes than others (I don’t get it either).

“Jesus, last year they had so much hate that they didn’t even try this year.”

Enjoy. Or don’t. I don’t care.
