Acrobat Sam Panda Handcuffed For Wearing A Thong Bikini On The Beach

Sam Panda, Facebook

If the name Sam Panda sounds familiar to you then you probably spent some time on the internet in November of 2017 when she went viral for a horrific accident caused by her rig breaking and resulting in her falling and breaking her neck.

Panda, who hails from Pittsburgh but now lives in Taiwan and performs all over the world, was recently in Myrtle Beach visiting some friends when they decided to do what everyone does down there – hit the beach.

Unexpectedly, while they were hanging out on the beach, police suddenly appeared and detained Panda for wearing a thong bikini.

According to Panda, “some Karen” apparently called the cops on her and a friend who were “wearing thong bikinis and a see-through top that were dancing and soliciting videos on the beach.”

Amazingly, wearing a thong bikini on the beach down there is actually a crime as Panda and her friends asked the officers to show them the actual ordinance that prohibits it, and they did.

The law there says being in “a state of dress or undress so as to expose to the view of others specified anatomical areas” is illegal.

Writing on Facebook about the unusual experience, Panda said, “If you are a woman, and you decide to call the police on other women for their bodies ON A BEACH, IN FRONT OF YOUR TEENAGE DAUGHTER… You have allowed a 105 pound woman to get rushed, aggressively grabbed, manhandled, and cuffed. You allowed two women to be slut shamed publicly on a beach for their bathing suits.

“And worst of all, you showed your daughter that her body is something she should be ashamed of and could be detained for. You showed her that a man can harm a woman over the way her body is viewed by other people. You have objectified a female body that does not belong to you and have showed your daughter that those actions are acceptable.

“You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself. #cancelMyrtleBeach.”

In a video of the altercation, which lasts for around 20 minutes, Panda is heard telling the police officer, “You put me in handcuffs for wearing a thong!”

Putting her in handcuffs definitely could be construed as being a little extreme. After all, she was wearing a thong bikini so it’s not like there was any chance of her concealing a weapon.
