Fresh off of the debut of his new Netflix film Spaceman, the streaming giant announced that Adam Sandler’s next film for the company would be a Noah Baumbach film alongside George Clooney.

While the project does not have a title, Netflix described the movie — which will also feature Academy Award winner Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, and Riley Keough — as being a “coming-of-age film about adults.”

Adding to the appeal is that the project is being directed by Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach, who has also helmed films such as The Squid and the Whale, Greenberg, Frances Ha, The Meyerowitz Stories, Marriage Story, and White Noise.

Baumbach is also an accomplished screenwriter, having most recently written Barbie alongside his partner Greta Gerwig.

The untitled Baumbach film will be Sandler’s latest project with Netflix as he has starred in over 10 movies at the studio. Sandler first signed a production deal with Netflix in 2014. His latest deal was a four-film, $250 million deal that he signed in 2020.

As for Clooney, his most recent work was as a filmmaker as he directed the 2023 film The Boys in the Boat. Clooney’s last lead role was in the 2022 rom-com Ticket to Paradise alongside Julia Roberts. This year, he’ll also be starring alongside Brad Pitt in the Jon Watts’ film Wolfs, which tells the story of two rival fixers. At this time, Wolfs, which is an AppleTV+ film, does not have an official release date.

So far, Sandler has starred in and/or produced the following films for Netflix: The Ridiculous 6, The Do-Over, Sandy Wexler, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), The Week Of, Murder Mystery, The Wrong Missy, Hubie Halloween, Murder Mystery 2, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, Hustle, The Out-Laws, Leo, and Spaceman.
