Andrew and Tristan Tate are being held in a Miami jail while they await extradition to the UK
Andrew and Tristan Tate are currently living a lifestyle far from the lavish one they portray on social media. The pair are currently being held in a Miami-area jail as they await extradition to the United Kingdom.
On Saturday, July 19, US Marshals arrested both Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami under a sealed warrant at the UK’s extradition request on charges of rape and sex trafficking. The brothers have denied all allegations despite charges being handed down in two separate countries: Romania and England.
The pair appeared handcuffed and shackled in federal court on Monday, where their attorneys argued the extradition violates a longstanding agreement between the UK and Romanian governments that the UK would not seek extradition while Romanian proceedings are still pending.

The state of Florida is also conducting its own active criminal investigation into the brothers, who were first arrested in Romania in December 2022 on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized criminal group to sexually exploit women.
Since their arrest and while they await their extradition, the Tate brothers are being held at FCI Miami, where their current diet has been revealed by TMZ.
“At the jail Sunday, Andrew and Tristan were treated to a breakfast of boiled eggs and peanut butter. Lunch was scrambled eggs, oven brown potatoes, biscuits, jelly, creamy gravy and, yes, peanut butter,” TMZ reported.
“Dinner wasn’t much better. The Tates had a choice between meatloaf, a black bean burger, green beans, mashed potatoes, and brown gravy. Then, Monday, the brothers woke up to boiled eggs, and peanut butter once again. For lunch, they were served a chili cheese baked potato and, for dinner, they can wolf down a chickpea burger.”
While their Romanian case remains ongoing, the arrest of the pair came after British prosecutors filed 38 new charges against them that they allege occurred between 2010 and 2017 in the area north of London where the brothers grew up.
If convicted on all charges, Andrew and Tristan could potentially face multiple life sentences, as rape alone carries a maximum of life imprisonment under English law, and he faces seven counts (Tristan faces two counts). In the United Kingdom, however, sentences are served concurrently rather than consecutively. Still, being found guilty on even a fraction of the charges would likely mean decades in prison for both brothers.
