Despite the fact that Avengers: Endgame was released half-a-year ago, fans are still learning more about the highest-grossing film of all-time seemingly every week.

Whether it be through interviews with the cast and crew or promotional content released to hype up Disney+, tidbits and fun facts about the film have been steadily dispersed ever since the movie hit theaters back in late May.

Warning: spoilers for Avengers: Endgame will follow.

Take earlier this week, for example, as the release of the film’s script came with the revelation that Tony Stark’s final thoughts before passing away were “I’m sorry.” Talk about taking a cheap shot judo kick directly to the feels.

That wasn’t the only nugget revealed in the Endgame screenplay, though, as fans also learned that there was originally a plan for Dormammu — the big bad in Doctor Strange — to appear in the film.

The script from the blockbuster Avengers movie has been released online, which reveals there was an original plan for Dormammu to appear.

If you remember, Doctor Strange stuck the baddie in a time loop in the 2016 movie, which caused him to retreat and thus restore balance to the world. However, in a scene from Endgame where Hulk meets the Ancient One, the latter talks about how timelines would be worse without the Infinity Stones.

While Marvel Studios has been largely criticized for their lack of compelling villains, that sentiment certainly did not apply to Thanos, as he was not only the most threatening but also the most complex “big bad” that has appeared in the MCU thus far. Given that Thanos was such a strength of Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel’s decision not to include Dormammu and give Thanos the solo spotlight in Endgame proved to be a wise one.
