Earlier this week, former UFC fighter and current The Mandalorian star Gina Carano posted a photo to Instagram confirming that production on season two of the hit Disney+ has wrapped.
Disney obviously knew the Pedro Pascal-starring series would be a hit, as season two essentially began production before season one even premiered.
Given the mind-blowing scale of the series, it stands to reason that the wheels have been in motion for some time. Disney+ was announced in December 2017 so it’s quite likely they’ve been mapping out the series since then.
For example, the series is so expertly plotted that Baby Yoda and Anakin Skywalker were actually born in the same year, as this Reddit user points out:
“Baby Yoda is 50 years old at the time of The Mandalorian, which takes place in 9 ABY. Meaning Baby Yoda was born in the year 41 BBY, the same year as Anakin Skywalker. Maybe Baby Yoda ties into Anakin somehow? Maybe through Plageuis also?” [via Reddit]
As we learned in The Rise of Skywalker, there’s apparently such a thing as a “dyad” in the force (don’t even get me fucking started on that movie), therefore making Baby Yoda and Darth Vader being born the same year just a littleee too significant to ignore.
At this time, the second season of ‘The Mandalorian’ is set to hit Disney+ in the United States in October. All eight episodes of the first season are currently streaming.
