The Fraser-Winter Park Police Department in Colorado responded to reports of a bear entering an arcade but arrived too late. Body camera footage taken from one of the officer’s uniforms shows the bar entering the arcade, presumably to throw down on some vintage Street Fighter.
This is a particularly active time of year for bears in Colorado with Winter on the horizon but that does not mean anyone ever expects to see a fully grown bear entering the arcade!
Colorado Police Offers Catches Bear Entering Arcade
Fraser, Colorado sits due West of the Denver metro area, between Tabernash and Winter Park, South of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. It is a truly gorgeous slice of our great nation and one that is filled with wildlife.
Spotted in the middle of the town’s business district, the officer called out to the bear saying “Hey, don’t you go up there!” before following that up with “Hey, no, no, no, no!” Naturally, the next message from the officer over the radio signaled “The bear’s in the Retrocade.”
Thankfully, nobody was harmed in this incident. The bear was lured outside and back to safety before anyone came face-to-face with the massive wild animal. On Facebook, the Fraser Valley/Winter Park PD posted the video along with the message “Bears are very active this time of year, so keep doors closed, secure attractants and give wildlife plenty of space. And maybe don’t expect a bear to listen when you tell it where to go. 😉Stay bear aware, Fraser Valley!”
That advice should be heeded year-round. If there are bears in the area, in any area, they will seek out easy meals. Always secure food and keep doors closed or you risk coming face to face with a hungry creature many times your size.
Elsewhere in Colorado, a teenager recently avoided injury after a bear climbed through her bedroom window forcing her to hide under blankets and hope for the best.
